Preparedness and Election 2016
If you live in the United States, or even if you don’t, you are likely ready for quite the firestorm during the next several months. There has been much made of the 2016 Election, and the final battle will be between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. If someone told you this a year ago, you would have almost certainly thought they were kidding. Oppositions and support of both candidates is strong, and the only thing for sure is that the United States is bound to see some major changes when the next President of The United States takes office, whoever that may be.
The policies of each candidate are quite different. It goes without saying that Trump is much more of a wildcard, and many of his detractors say that he is a “threat” and “dangerous” to the future of the nation. On that same note, many believe that Clinton has the capability to be just as dangerous. No matter which side you are on, there is little doubting that the future of the country is very uncertain and volatile.
At Living Rational, we see this as an opportunity to prepare for each potential outcome. Whether you are voting for Trump or Clinton, it is worth considering proper preparedness for either situation.
Survival with Trump Presidency
If Donald Trump becomes the winner of the 2016 election, there is likely to be little immediate impact, outside of a few likely protests and some minor chaos. Down the line, however, it is not unreasonable to expect some international, or even internal conflict, depending on how his general personality flows into the Oval Office itself.
If you believe Trump will instill chaos within the US and among its own citizens, having a stockpile of emergency food and preparedness supplies is logical. Food is likely to be most important, especially in the event of civil unrest. If everyone is outside and there are many notably dangerous areas, an ample food supply will allow you to fend for your own needs without needing to step outside of your home.
Survival with Clinton Presidency
A Clinton presidency would be best prepared for by adhering to general life preparedness. Given the heavily Liberal influence policies of Clinton, your financial security will need to come first. Food and survival items won’t do much good in this situation, so you will need to take other precautions. Many believe that investing in alternate currencies and other stores of wealth are the best way to battle this. Currency and personal wealth may be strongly impacted by Hillary Clinton and her Democratic policies, so be sure that your money is not taken from you and given to others. In addition to this, you will want to ensure you have proper protection should your right to bear arms be infringed upon. Needless to say, this is much more likely to happen with Clinton than Trump.
In all likelihood, the new president is unlikely to require any sort of entirely new preparedness plan, but you should keep one in place nonetheless. Neither Clinton nor Trump will eliminate all of the possible SHTF scenarios, and it is virtually impossible to say who would increase them. The only thing that is certain is that times are very much changing, and it is important to be prepared for whatever comes next.
